VARD Shipyard Tulcea
The partnership with VARD Group began 15 years ago when the company in Tulcea decided to modernize the existing blasting line and therefore purchased the Rutten turbines from Minex. In 2004 the entire range of equipment for the new blasting and coating halls was put into place.
Starting with 2012 Minex developed a highly complex project including 5 blasting, painting and drying halls, all fully equipped (3 halls with the size of the 44m x 31m x 28m and two others of 41m x 31m x 22m). The project is one of the most important ones in Europe. The ventilation systems are provided with heat exchangers able to ensure a high level of energy recovery. This has an immediate impact on reducing the carbon footprint of the shipyard, while decresing the energy costs and the consumption of natural gas.
The total investment was over 15 million EURO. Through it Vard Tulcea managed to double the blasting and painting capacity for ship hulls, significantly influencing the productivity of the shipyard and its energetic efficiency.
