V.O.C. (Volatile Organic Compounds) removal in a gaseous stream through thermal oxidation means to increasethe airflowtemperature  (in  suitable conditions of turbulence and residence time) in order to permit the following reaction ofdecomposition:

V.O.C. + O2+ Activation Energy CO2+ H2O + heat

Thanks to this exothermal reaction we can have a further increase in the temperature, proportional  to  the concentrationofinletpollutantsandtheir caloricpower.

Description

The raw gas is sucked by a fan; if the airflowisnotsteady, asuctionregulationsystem is usually installed (inverter), optimising also the energetic consumptions.

The plant consists in a thermalrecovery section, which is integrated and coaxial to the combustion chamber; the hotpurified streams flowing out from the combustion chamber are used to pre- heat the inlet pollutedair.

Specially designed valves, projected andtestedtogivereliabilityandsafetyin this particular application, allow the start-up with ambient air and stand-by conditions, as well as the control of the pre-heat temperature in case of high inletconcentration.

The purified air is then sent to the stack or to a further thermal recovery section.

Features and advantages offered by the system

  • HighRemovalEfficiency(98-99,5%)
  • Reduced dimensions andweight
  • Reduced Production Of Secondary Pollutants (CO,NOx)
  • Further Heat RecoveryPossibility
  • EasyManagementAndMaintenance
