Automatic paint mixing and dosing solutions

During the year 2016, as part of a vast retooling program, Lemet SA decided to integrate into its own painting line, a system for automatic proportioning and dosing of paints from GRACO.
Why electronic mixing?
Because it offers:
- the highest degree of achieving the desired mixing ratio
- an efficient and fast solution for color change
- as well as a system for real-time tracking and reporting of material consumption.
The chosen system was Graco Promix 2KS automatic, for 7 colors and 4 catalysts, connected via a proprietary Minex interface to a Cefla robot, with 10 automatic painting guns Graco G40 AirAssisted.
The sequential dosing solution adopted offers accuracy in maintaining the ratio regardless of the flow demanded by the guns, and the optimized mixing chamber - together with fast processors and dosing valves - generates precise performance and material always mixed at the highest quality. The use of discharge valves allowed the simultaneous action of washing and color loading sequences, significantly reducing color change time and better management of paint waste.
Interconnection between the dosing-mixing unit and the application robot was achieved with the help of an interface created by Minex specialists, which offers on one hand easy and intuitive operation, ensuring, at the same time, the automatic unfolding of all processes.
