Clean and Safe Air in a Technical School in Belgium – Welding and Grinding Extraction System
A technical school in Belgium recently relocated its workshops to a new facility and decided to implement an advanced extraction system for managing fumes and particles generated during welding and grinding activities. These operations are conducted simultaneously in a relatively compact area, making air quality and safety critical.
The implemented solution includes:
- a FilterMax F600 unit
- connected to a ventilator with integrated inverter for efficient airflow control
- the FilterMax was linked to 12 Nederman Original extraction units (2-meter arms) installed directly in the welding booths
- and 3 XL extraction arms installed in the grinding area
Key benefits:
- the frequent use of the extraction arms keeps the air clean and safe, even during intense and simultaneous operations
- localized extraction ensures effective removal of hazardous particles right at the source
- compact installation, ideal for educational environments with limited space
- contributes to long-term health protection for students and instructors
This setup demonstrates how educational institutions can maintain industrial-level safety standards while optimizing learning environments.
