AFS1 Mineral Abrasive

AFS1 is a fine, synthetic mineral abrasive made from fused glass with aluminum silicate content. It is an environmentally friendly product that complies with ISO 11126-4 N/CS/G. Its semi-angular granules are nearly free of ferrous elements, making it suitable for delicate and precision applications. The abrasive is chemically stable, with components insoluble in water and no free silica acid particles. With its low metallic content (less than 0.1% iron), AFS1 is ideal for sensitive blasting processes requiring cleanliness and precision.

Available grain sizes

  • Grade 1: 0.04–0.18 mm
  • Grade 2: 0.125–0.35 mm
  • Grade 3: 0.20–0.50 mm

  • Silicon dioxide (SiO₂): 42–58%
  • Aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃): 23–32%
  • Iron oxide (Fe₂O₃): 3–15%
  • Calcium oxide (CaO): 2–8.5%
  • Potassium oxide (K₂O): 0.5–4.6%
  • Chemically bonded metals as silicates/aluminates
  • Insoluble in water; no free silica acid particles
  • Iron content < 0.1%
