Elcometer 4360 & 4361 Spiral Bar Coaters
The Elcometer Spiral Bar Coaters are high-precision tools made entirely of stainless steel, designed to apply a predetermined and uniform film thickness on a variety of substrates. Each coater consists of a cylindrical bar wound with stainless steel wire, enabling consistent spreading of coatings that exhibit high levelling characteristics, such as paints, varnishes, adhesives, and similar products.
A wide selection of wire diameters is available, covering a coating thickness range from 4µm to 500µm (0.157 to 19.685 mils), with additional wire diameters available on request for custom applications. The coaters are offered in two standard widths:
- 140mm (5.5”)
- 250mm (9.8”)
This allows users to choose the appropriate film width depending on the test chart or substrate size, including flexible materials.
Elcometer Spiral Bar Coaters are ideal for use with Elcometer 4330 or 4340 Motorised Film Applicators, ensuring automated and precise coating application. For manual application, a dedicated table is also available, featuring a clamp and flexible mat to ensure optimal stability and uniform results.
