Elcometer 3570 Casting Knife Film Applicator
The Elcometer 3570 Casting Knife Film Applicator is a high-precision manual tool designed for the application of high-viscosity materials onto relatively firm substrates. Constructed from anodised aluminium, it features a bevelled blade applicator body and an integrated reservoir, ensuring a controlled and uniform distribution of coating materials such as paints, varnishes, adhesives, and pastes.
The standout feature of the Elcometer 3570 is its adjustable film gap, which can be finely set in 1 micron intervals from 0 to 1mm. Adjustment is made by inclining the device using a micrometric screw, allowing for highly accurate and repeatable film thickness control.
To determine the total width of the applicator, simply add 36mm (1.4”) to the film width. This design makes the Elcometer 3570 an excellent choice for laboratory testing, formulation trials, and quality control procedures where coating uniformity is critical.
