Elcometer Viscosity Flow Cups
These Elcometer Flow Cups are very easy-to-use instruments designed to measure the kinematic viscosity or consistency of paints, varnishes, and similar liquid products. Made from anodised aluminium with a precision stainless steel orifice, they offer durability and long-lasting accuracy.
The viscosity is measured based on the flow time in seconds as the fluid passes through the cup's orifice. If required by the standard being followed, this time can be converted into Centistokes (cSt) for standardized reporting. The method is widely used in laboratories, production lines, and quality control departments.
These cups are available as individual units or as a complete kit including an adjustable stand with a precision bubble level and an overflow glass draw down plate to ensure consistent and level measurements. For enhanced accuracy under controlled conditions, an optional flow jacket (thermojacket) is available to regulate temperature during testing.
Measurement ranges are available from 5 to 5100cSt, in accordance with various international standards.
