The Elcometer 3580 Casting Knife Film Applicator is a precision tool specifically designed for the manual application of thick, high-viscosity coatings on solid, flat substrates. Manufactured from durable anodised aluminium, it features a bevelled blade body for clean, controlled film application and is ideal for use in laboratories and product development environments.
One of its key features is the adjustable film gap, which can be set in 10 micron increments from 0 to 6mm, using two integrated micrometric screws. This allows for exceptional control over the thickness of the applied film, ensuring repeatable and accurate test results.
The Elcometer 3580 is available in a wide range of film widths and is equipped with extended side panels that help contain the coating during application, preventing overflow and ensuring clean edges.
